Borders are open with restrictions.

Passengers are barred from enter if they have been in the past 14 days in one of these countries:
Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe.

The following passengers are allowed to enter Thailand:

  • citizens, residents and students;
  • spouses and children of citizens of Thailand;
  • holders of valid visas by Thailand;
  • citizens of Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Vietnam and Taiwan holding APEC Business Travel Card and arriving directly from country of their citizenship;
  • residents of Hong Kong holding APEC Business Travel Card and arriving directly from Hong Kong;
  • passengers transiting via Bangkok (BKK);
  • visa-exempted passengers;
  • those arriving to Phuket (HKT).

For transiting via Thailand passengers must have:

  • a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test result. The result must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure and must be in English or Thai.
  • a medical insuarance covering th cost of medical treatment for at least USD 50,000;
  • a valid vaccination certificate.
    Transit passengers who doesn’t disembark doesn’t need negative RT-PCR test result, nor vaccination certificate nor medical insurance.

There are two schemes of entering Thailand at the moment: Sandbox Program and Alternative Quarantine (AQ).

Passengers traveling under the Sandbox Program scheme must:

  • arrive at one of these airports:
    Phuket (HKT);
  • have a Thailand Pass obtained online;
  • have a valid vaccination certificate;
  • have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. Results accepted in English or Thai;
  • a medical insuarance covering th cost of medical treatment for at least USD 50,000;
  • have a hotel booking for 7 nights at AQ, OQ, or SHA+ hotel. It must be obtained online here or here.

Children under 6 years doesn’t need a test result.

These passengers doesn’t need a vaccination certificate:

  • children under 12;
  • holders of a recovery certificate if they received at least 1 dose of vaccine;
  • children between 12 and 17 years old who received at least 1 dose of vaccine.

Passengers traveling under the Alternative Quarantine (AQ) scheme must:

  • have a Thailand Pass obtained online;
  • have a hotel booking for 10 nights at AQ, OQ, or SHA+ hotel. It must be obtained online here or here.
  • have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. Results accepted in English or Thai;
  • a medical insuarance covering th cost of medical treatment for at least USD 50,000.

Those who have a valid vaccination certificate should have hotel booking for only 7 days. Passengers arriving from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe shall stay in quarantine for 14 days.

The following moving restrictions applies for passengers travelling under:

  • Exemption from Quarantine (EQ) scheme: shall stay 1 night in a hotel awaiting for the coronavirus test result;
  • Sandbox Programme: shall stay 7 nights in a booked hotel;
  • Alternative Quarantine (AQ) scheme: shall be quarantined for 10 days.

Visa on arrival facilities restarted.

Passenger must be fully vaccinated no less than 14 days before arrival.

Approved vaccines are: AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik V.
