In Vienna, Austria, the tourist tax is set to increase from 1 July 2026.

The current rate of 3.2% will rise to 8.5%, based on the cost of an overnight stay. The initial plan was to launch the project on 1 December 2025, but it was posфtponed due to criticism from hotel representatives. The goal is to gradually increase the tax to 5% by 2026 and 8.5% by 2027. At present, the average price of a hotel room per night in Vienna is approximately €200.
